PLANNING APPLICATIONS

The parish council is not a planning authority and as such does not make final decisions on planning applications. However, the parish council is a statutory consultee and as such receives all planning applications relating to the parish for comment; it is also able to request and comment on any application made within surrounding parishes.

If you click on the link to Waverley Borough Council's planning department, you will be able to search for the plans and documents associated with planning application within the Parish .

Parish Comment

Busbridge Parish Council objects to this planning application on the following grounds -
- insertion of a new house in a small community that cannot stand any further traffic or development
- the proposed first floor windows would overlook the adjoining property, The Bothy
- there may well be bats in the upper level of the current garage as this building has been there for at least 60

Date of Application:

Reference:

WOODCOTE HOUSE, HASCOMBE ROAD, GODALMING. GU8 4AB

Planning Description

Certificate of Lawfulness under Section 191 to confirm works commenced on application HM/R17843 (approved 03/07/1969) within the required time period and the side extension on the western elevation therefore remains extant.

Parish Comment

The parish council takes the view that since the extension which is claimed to remain extant and have technically been "started" after receiving permission in 1969 ( HM/R17843 ) is not shown on the plans for the later application (WA/1984/1320 ), the works were not started in planning terms at this time. In deciding WA/1984/1320 WBC cannot have taken it into consideration or include it in conditions since it was not shown as existing in any way. We therefore consider that this development does not already have planning permission.

Date of Application:

Reference:

ARLAW BANKS, HASCOMBE ROAD, GODALMING. GU8 4AD

Planning Description

Construction of a sand school and associated landscaping.

Parish Comment

Busbridge Parish Council objects to the proposed sand school as we believe it does not meet the criteria set out in Waverley's saved policy RD13 on Non-Commercial Horse Keeping in that
a) the proposed development is not small in scale
b) the proposal would significantly detract from the character of the rural landscape (see Waverley's conclusion on WA/2018/0674 which had identical square meterage) and
c) the proposal would adversely affect nearby residential amenities
We would also draw the council's attention to possible damage to boundary trees following the council's permission given in WA/2020/0082 on 26th March.
